For the Doc-Scan mobile application (the "App")

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use Doc-Scan. By installing or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

Account credentials: Email address and password when you create an account, or your Google account information when you sign in with Google.
Documents: PDF files, scanned images, and documents you create, edit, or store within the App.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

Camera and media: Live camera feed and selected photos, used solely for document scanning. Images are processed on-device wherever possible.
Device information: Device model, operating system version, and unique identifiers used for authentication and analytics.
Usage data: App activity, such as features used and crash reports, used to improve the App.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide document scanning, OCR (text recognition), PDF creation, editing, and conversion features.
To authenticate your account and keep your files synchronized across sessions.
To display relevant advertisements (see Section 4).
To improve performance, fix bugs, and develop new features.
To provide customer support and respond to your requests.

3. Permissions Used by the App

Permission	Purpose
Camera	Scan documents using the device camera.
Read Media / Storage	Import existing images and PDFs, and save scanned documents.
Internet & Network State	Authenticate accounts, sync files, load ads, and use cloud services.

4. Third-Party Services

The App integrates the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Storage): Manages user accounts and stores documents securely. Firebase Privacy Policy

Google AdMob: Displays advertisements. AdMob may use device identifiers and usage data to serve relevant ads. AdMob Privacy

5. Advertising & AdMob

The App is free to use and supported by advertisements served through Google AdMob. AdMob and its partners may collect and use data such as your device's advertising ID to serve relevant ads. You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of interest-based advertising in your device's Settings > Google > Ads.

6. Data Storage & Security

Your documents and account data are stored securely using Firebase infrastructure with industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. Local documents remain on your device unless you explicitly sign in and choose to sync. We implement reasonable safeguards to protect your information but cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the third-party service providers listed in Section 4 to operate the App, and when required by law.

8. Data Retention & Deletion

Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account and associated data at any time by emailing us (see Section 10). On-device documents are deleted when you uninstall the App.

9. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your location (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below.
